Important Gothic Revival Library Table:  New York, ca. 1840-60

New York, New York, ca.1840-60.  Walnut with white marble top. Gothic inset decoration on pedestal base and drawers. Spandrel supports adorning the pedestal and top.  Quatrefoil designs on base.
Dimensions:  31"H  x 42 1/2" x 42 1/2"
Purchased in 1960's by current owner's mother in New Jersey
Conditions:  Minor loss to veneer banding surrounding top (see photos).  Marble top looks to be replaced due to clean edges. Drawer knob missing.

This table is believed to be made in the New York City area around 1840-60.  The maker of this table and tables like these is unknown.  A similar but much fancier table in design and marble top currently is on exhibit at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.  The table was acquired in 1986 and came from the Frederick Deming Library in Newburgh, NY.

Another table by this cabinetmaker was sold on 1st dibs.  This table had a replaced baize top and scaled down in design from the table on exhibit at The Met.  It was exhibited at Hirschl & Adler Galleries, New York in 2006.  In order to appeal to buyers, cabinetmakers "customized" orders according to the demand of the client.  On all three examples of this table, the use of identical design elements is illustrated.

1969 E type Jaguar convertible

“The most beautiful car ever made”, Enzo Ferrari.  The E Type Jaguar is considered an icon of automotive design.

Fresh to the market, this car has been garage keep for the past 30 years while being restored. This car is part of an Estate.  The current owner inherited the car from his father upon his death. Upon being at the body shop (in Norfolk, VA) to be painted, the car’s bonnet disappeared, thus the reason for the replacement hood.  It is believed that most of the car’s parts (and bonnet accessory parts) that were removed for paint prep are present.  Parts were unpacked and photographed to show contents.  The carburetor has likely has been modified for improved performance ability.

Operating, maintenance and service handbook included.  Manufacturer's Warranty available (see photos).  Some service records available.

Auction payments are in US$ currency only.
